The Sabbath

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said “Let there be light” and there was light.  God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.  God called the “light” day and the dark He called “night.”
And there was evening and there was morning – the first day.
Genesis 1:1-5

And that’s how it all started.  In the beginning.  From sundown to sundown.

By the seventh day, God had finished all the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work.  Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done.
Genesis 2:2-3

And the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
